The basic idea here is that Starbucks, Home Depot and a few other specific companies are very growth oriented and do heavy, heavy research on the markets into which they expand. If they're going to do all the hard work you may as well take advantage, right?
I thought it was a pretty interesting idea that makes a lot of sense, especially if you're not very familiar with the market yourself.

Hey Mark,
Just stumbled upon your blog. Great resource, as there doesn't seem to be a lot of info about the WW market on the web. People sure like to talk about it, but nobody's writing (other than the NY Times, of course). I would love to see some updated charts like you did for March and April, as well as your analysis of where the market's at today.
Thanks!
Thanks for the nice comments. I've just returned from vacation and am working to get everything up and running again. Look for new stats within the next week!
Mark,
Just found your blog - great stats. I've been bugging my real estate agent to provide me with this sort of data, but to no avail. She would benefit from reading your blog!
When will you be posting the stats for May and June?
Thanks,
Brian
I second the comment from Anonymous! Yours is the only place I've found to get data on what's happening in the Walla Walla housing arena. Seems like it would help buyers and sellers greatly. Thank you for your effort in making it available. I look forward to the updates!
Thanks for the additional comments. If you need a knowledgeable Realtor you know where to find one!
-> that would be me, in case that wasn't clear :)
