September Statistics

September 2007 Statistics
September 2007 Charts

Now that September has come and gone it's clear that things have certainly slowed down in the Walla Walla valley.

HOWEVER, let's just pause here for a moment before moving on. While the Walla Walla market has indeed slowed down in 2007 we are NOT experiencing a major downturn. If you just glance at the national news you probably assume that the sky is falling here like it is everywhere else. Well let me say it again, it is not.

What we are experiencing locally is a normalization of the market. That is, the market is becoming more balanced. Prices are not falling, but they're also not rising as quickly as they have been over the last several years. Inventory is rising and some homes are taking longer to sell.

That means that it is even more important to use the services of a Realtor who really knows the market and can show you a strong marketing plan customized for your home.

Alright, if you would like to hear more about the local market conditions don't hesitate to get in touch or leave a comment.

A Blogger is Born?

Well, quite honestly, I didn't see this coming. Sure I spend hours and hours online each day but am I really going to join another site that's going to eat up even more of my time? Apparently yes.

I suppose I've got to blame/credit the Windermere services guy (I'll give him a link later) who turned me into an "Internet Marketing Specialist". He was pretty enthusiastic about blogging as a way of finding new customers. The funny thing is at the time I thought it was a pretty dumb idea. I had no intention of starting any blog, much less one dedicated to real estate.

The thing is the idea grew on me. There's so much about this that fits with what I like to do and what I can do well. After I checked around and found that there is literally no one else doing this in Walla Walla I decided to give it a go.

The plan is for this to be a content driven site. I have no intention of writing long, boring posts just to fill space. Future posts will include photos and video and will cover specific new developments and news of interest. Potential upcoming topics include:
  • progress at Vue22
  • Soaring Hawk - one of my favorite big $$ new developments
  • the Vineyard Condos - great value, finally something affordable in town
  • neighborhood profiles
Those are just a few off the top of my head. If there's anything you want to hear about please leave comments. All for now!
